Who will be best this season?

I own JP currently, but am wondering if Martin becomes his previous self or not...thanks!

Depends on if it's a Keeper league or not...

if it's not... John Farrell has already said that Jose Molina will be catching for Drabek, Jo-Jo Reyes and Morrow, so that already limits JP (given when Morrow gets back Reyes will no longer be a starter, that gives JP three starts), where as Martin I see being the regular catcher when Posada hitting in DH, seeing how old Posada is and can't be too good on his knees...

I'd go with Martin myself...

JP if you need power, Martin if you could use a handful of SB. I think Martin will finish with around 30 combined HR/SB (ie 15/15), while JP could put up numbers similar to Napoli. In a keeper I would lean to JP as Martin will have to compete with the likes of Montero sooner rather than later.

Normally I'd go with the upside over the veteran, but Martin is starting the year on fire. If he can return to form from a couple of years ago then he's well worth owning. He has a starting gig and the Yankee lineup batting around him. JP won't see as many at bats and even though he's capable of hitting 20 homers, he'll struggle in the other stats. They're both risks, but I'd go with Martin.

Have to go with Martin right now due to his hot start.
