Daily leagues make this possible

The problem is that he's not in a logical platoon. AFAIK he plays against all lefties (platooning at 1B) and then get some add'l starts and PH's quite a bit. I have him in at C in my 14 tm league (OBP instead of BA) and I simply don't even think about when he's playing or not playing. He'll get his AB's somewhere and he'll hit his HR's also. And bench spots (only 4) are too valuable for a guy like buck on the bench.

So far Naps is getting way less at bats than I anticipated. He's starting one out of every 3 games it seems... Will this keep up or will he start seeing more at bats than this?

I've been surprised as well, especially when you consider how well he's hit when given the chance. He is that awful defensively that he can't start at catcher over Torrealba?

Yeah it seems pretty baffling. Moreland, Young and Torrealba are getting way more PT than Napoli. Torrealba is the most inexplicable. And poor old Chris Davis is stuck putting up insane numbers in AAAA-land.

It's not baffling at all. Moreland is a lefty and faces all RH'd pitchers (about 70% of MLB pitchers). Young isn't going to get benched and they prefer Torrealba behind the plate. Personally I see this as a potential buy low time since Napoli owners might be getting frustrated. At some point Young will be at 2B or 3B and the Rangers won't be able to ignore his bat at C.

So Naps is sitting for the 3rd straight game even though he's facing Brad Penny who he is 4-8 with 3 HR and 6 RBI against. What's the deal here? There's no way his defense can be that bad to justify this... can there?

3 homeruns in 16 at bats..

Tough loss on Hamilton's injury. :~(

I surely hope at least Hamilton's injury could mean more playing time for Napoli. :-{

It makes no sense to me. Napoli has done nothing but kill the ball in the 14 measly at bats he has been given so far this season. Only playing him once every three or four games is sheer stupidity.

With Chris Davis getting the call and Moreland getting more OF time, don't be so sure.

He's not going to DH very often until they have a backup catcher on the roster. If he is the DH and Yorvit gets hurt, Napoli moves to C and Texas loses the DH spot in the lineup.

His only hope for more playing time is poor play by Yorvit or playing 1b.
