let's not wish a foppert arm explosion, but agreed....i traded robb nen two weeks ago for affeldt.....i like the fact that he has some ML experience, and has shown flashes of greatness

he's a "stuff" pitcher, so concievably when he figures it all out, he could be great.

I don't like owning young guns...too much to go wrong....but this is a keeper, so if i don't get him now, he may be untouchable next year

But these guys (Affeldt, Edwin Jackson, Zack Greinke, ....) are all risk reward type of plays.....don't buy the hype and jump on them early or pay double digits

end round picks that can sit on the bench if needed, but if everything falls into place, it's a steal

oh....and grammar is always right on in this place too ;-D

Take a chance on Affeldt

My money rides on his arm.....He's a Sleeper

Hes NO Wood.

Remember these posts..... Maybe you will take a chance on him, and maybe you will draft a Suppan type instead. I have him in my rotation and I'll hope for the best, and look to win my league. Take a chance. Or keep driving your Toyota Carolla!!

Ah, back to the original point of the thread. It's a judgement call between them because Radke's proven and you know pretty much what you'll get. Best case, Affeldt blows his doors off, but ...

I definitely like Affeldt over Benson, if only for run support.

Ok, I have 1 for you...

Affeldt or Cliff Lee?

They both are young (Lee the younger, and less experienced) both play in the AL, and both have potentialWho do you take?
Fantasy sports are ruled by the 50-50-90 rule...

Anytime you have a 50/50 choice between two players, 90% of the time, you'll get it wrong

no question that Lee was a much better starter last year.

I still think Affeldt might be a better pitcher.
He made strides in relief, and has convinced the Royals that he deserves a spot in the rotation (#3 no less) but he might end up being best suited as a closer.

Who knows......gut call (and it's an impressive gut), I like Affeldt.
