Current roster

C Posey
1B Butler
2B Beckham
SS Andrus
3B Arod
OF Upton, 2 spots open
Util Reynolds

Bench Delmon Young, Grady Sizemore, Alex Gordon, Dexter Fowler, Logan Morrison
DL Hamilton

SP Cliff Lee, Josh Johnson, CC Sabathia, 2 open spots
RP Chris Perez, Matt Capps

Bench Hellickson, Bumgarner, Kyle Drabek, Alexi Ogando, Andrew Bailey

I guess Hamilton, not Bailey is on my DL.

Again, looking for advice on OF, Util, SP, and picking up Edwin Jackson.

I'd drop either Drabeck or Fowler for E-Jax.

I'm of the believe that this is Edwin Jackson's career year, so YES, I would recommend making a play for him. Although Drabek is going to be a great pitcher, he'll also deal with a good deal of up's and down's this season, so I'd agree with Zhangman and drop Drabek for Jackson.

Well, I have not picked up Edwin Jackson yet, but I think he is safe on the waivers after his last start.

I went with an OF/Util of Upton, Gordon, Sizemore and Reynolds this week.

Beckham is slumping and I might need to replace him at 2B. Would you grab Ryan Theriot or Placido Polanco? Jed Lowrie?

Thanks for the help on mine.

Seems a lot has happened since your first post. :)

Of the names you liste,d I like Lowrie. I think he'll get PT in Boston, and he can hit. That said, I wouldn't drop Beckham for him.

I like the move for Ogando too.

Lowrie just hit another homer. I don't want to drop Beckham, just have another player who could start for him.

Anyone else have any advice? Would you pick up Lowrie? Who would you drop? The options I would consider are mainly Drabek or Morrison.

How long should I be patient on Delmon Young?

Also, Aardsma is available on my waivers. My RP are Perez, Capps, and Bailey. Would you pick him up? Who would you drop?

Morrison is having a MRI, so keep a eye on that.
I would consider Aardsma over Capps.

Capps? WHIR

Postby Bardu » Sat Apr 23, 2011 12:11 pm

Another update: I dropped Morrison to pick up Lowrie and I dropped Capps to pick up Storen. My relief pitching now includes Perez, Storen, and Bailey on the DL. Aardsma and Capps are on the waivers and I am tempted to pick Capps back up.

Droppable options include Fowler, Drabek or possibly one of the other RP. What would you do?

Doesn't anyone else think Capps could be better than my current relievers?

Also, Freddie Freeman is sitting on the waivers. I think I could start him next week at utility over Reynolds. Who would you drop?

Current team:
C Posey
1B Butler
2B Lowrie
SS Andrus
3B ARod
Of Gordon, BJ Upton, Sizemore
Util Reynolds

Bench Fowler, Young, Beckham
DL Hamilton

SP Sabathia, Lee, Johnson, Hellickson, Pinieda
RP Perez, Storen

Bench Bumgarner, Ogando, Drabek, Bailey

Beckham? WHIR

Postby Bardu » Tue Apr 26, 2011 1:17 pm

Well, my team finally had a breakthrough. A couple of days ago, I traded Ogando for Jason Bay, more help for my outfield. I was trying to formulate a plan for 2B between Beckham, Lowrie, and Polanco, basically it was ugly. Last night I picked up Ian Kennedy. Then I was able to trade Cliff Lee and Lowrie for Pedrioa! With the extra roster spot I grabbed James Shields.

My team now looks like this:

C Posey
1B Butler
2B Pedrioa
SS Andrus
3B Arod
OF BJ Upton, Sizemore, Bay
Util Gordon

Bench Delmon Young, Reynolds, Beckham
DL Hamilton

SP Sabathia, Josh Johnson, Pinieda, Hellickson, Kennedy
RP Perez, Storen

Bench Bumgarner, Shields, Drabek, Bailey

My infield looks a little better now. :-D

So would drop Beckham for someone on the waivers now? I could add Fowler, Francoeur, Maybin, Freeman, or Coghlan.
