AL Only Offer: Hellickson for Beltre

This league is AL-only, auction, roto with standard cats. I currently have E. Nunez and Hannahan as my 3B, which is a very tough position in AL-only leagues so I decided to take the hit at that position and spent my money elsewhere (A. Gonzalez at 1B, CC at SP). My current Ps include CC, Romero, Nova, Litsch, Masterson, Peavy, Bailey, R. Soriano, Downs and Jenks. I'm currently in the process of calling Hellickson up from my minor league roster. Given the AL-only format, my pitching is pretty good, especially when Hellickson is added in.

Hellickson is in a great contract given that he's a minor league contract. But Beltre is in a good contract as well and would be reasonably priced for the next 2-3 years.

After seeing Hellboy's 10 Ks yesterday, I'm very nervous about potentially trading away a future ace at a great price. Beltre is off to a very slow start and I'd like to be convinced that he plays well in non-contract year seasons. Thoughts? WHIR.

I would take Beltre. Hellickson should be a fine SP but he pitches in a tough division and SP is going to be easier to replace than a 3B of much value.

Do you have a chance to win this year? If so, Beltre. Otherwise, Hellickson. But go for this year first.
