I'm looking to get some value for Chase Utley, and I have a need for HR. I can take the blow to my AVG.
I give Chase Utley I get Mark Reynolds

If you can take the blow to AVG then Reynolds is probably your man. I say go for it and cash in Utley for some HR... Who knows when Utley is coming back and what he is going to do when he gets here.. With Reynolds you know you are getting some pop, which is what you are looking for.. i say make the deal. Thanks for the help on mine.
I think you can get more. That AVG really is atrocious. Also, what are your leagues eligibility requirements, because Youk is going to available to play 3b really soon. That gives you a whole lot more flexibility on what you can ask for for Utley. 1B/3B or even your UTIL spot.
Also, you could try a 2-fer, you could probably sell Utley/Moreland, for Reynolds/Upgrade in most leagues.
I'm actually asking this as part of a bigger trade. I can get Josh Hamilton if I give Ichiro and Haren. However, he wants to Utley, too, in order to make the deal, and is offering Reynolds in return.
I am okay with giving Ichiro and Haren to get Hamilton. I just have to decide if I bail on Utley, and, if so, is Reynolds enough of a return for him?
I have really soured on Reynolds so far this year (I know it has only been a week) but he isn't doing much of anything. Utley might be useless too this year. I hate to say it but I would probably do it. Who knows when Utley will be back, at least Reynolds is bound to hit some Hrs soon, right.

Reynolds really isn't too much to get excited about, but he will provide your team with some homers, which is what the poster is looking for. Yea its been a week and he hasn't done anything, but Hanley and Pujols are batting under .200 so far. It's a tough call, but in a deal where you are getting Josh Hamilton, Reynolds on top of that would be a nice way to make sure you get that power you are looking for.
Utley in name value and hope (for a 2nd half comeback) should net you more than Reynolds. So deal is Ichiro/Haren/Utley for Hamilton/Reynolds? I think it's too much on your end, esp if you lose Ichiro's .315-.330 AVG and take on Reynolds' +/- .200...Youk/Cano/Votto should keep your team AVG up there but Reynolds is a cinderblock albatross.
If you play fantasy basketball, you know that even though Dwight Howard is awesome, it's tough to draft him in ROTO, because his FT% just KILLS you. The same applies to Reynolds. You can finish in a respectable position, but everyone else will need to be great in AVG to make up for him.
I would look for something else to not kill one category while another is gained, even if Reynolds is a solid upgrade over EE. Any player in Reynolds' value range would be cool, I'm just not the big fan of him.
