FA help needed! WHIR

Postby CubsFan4Life23 » Wed Apr 06, 2011 12:59 pm

12 team keeper league (we keep 4), H2H 5x5 (obp replaces avg)

I am a few holes on my team (Catcher and SP) I plan on punting saves for a while as I always find good options mid season...

Should I add any of these FA's and if so, who to drop
Russell Martin / I Desmond / M Moreland / F Freeman / Berkman / A Gordon / Smoak / Espinosa / Ianetta / Olivo /
Tillman / I Kennedy / E Jackson / McClellan / Harrang / Minor / D Lowe /

My Team:
Arencibia
M. Cabrera / G. Sanchez
Prado / Raburn
Tulowitzki
R Zimmerman / McGehee
Pence / J Upton / Rasmus / Pagan

Hanson / Cain / Bumgarner / D Hudson / C Zambrano / Garza / Storen / Bedard / Beachy / PeavyDL / Strasburg DL

Thanks!! Leave a link. ;-D

I would think about adding Gordon and Lowe or Kennedy. Drop Bedard, Storen, Beachy (in that order). Bedard is washed up I think. Storen has probably blown his opportunity at being the closer for at least quite a while. Maybe he gets it back later this year, but I don't think so.

I think Gordon might be finally breaking out. Lowe looks really good and Kennedy is going to be solid.

I also agree that you should dump Storen: if you're going to punt a category, punt it all the way. I think you're better off using another starter instead: he'll likely give you more than the 3 or 4 Ks you'll get from Storen each week and a starter is a lot more likely to give you a W, plus there will be weeks where he starts twice. I'd grab Kennedy (drafted him as my 6th starter). He's barely 26 and could have a nice season.

Thanks for the help on mine.

Thanks thus far guys for the help...My concern is for JP...since Molina is the personal catcher for 3 of the 5 starters (JoJo/Drabek/Morrow), should I look into grabbing Russell Martin and dropping him or is he primed to start more often? I cant handle a catcher who plays only half the time unless he is worth it.

FWIW, Rotoworld is projecting Arencibia to get 348 more AB's this season while hitting .224.
