This is a points league. I need to drop 1 of them. Which one should I hold onto? I only plan on playing them at OF, so Cuddyer's flexibility isn't that big of an issue.
1 point for singles, rbi's, runs, walks. 2 points for doubles, stolen bases. 3 points for triples. 4 points for homeruns.
Last year: Cuddyer scored 500 points and Pagan scored 513.
Cuddyer probably never bounces back to his 30+ HR season and if Pagan steals 40 bases (37 last season) he's probably more valuable, but it depends on how much power you expect out of Cuddyer. He's current;y projected to hit between 15-19 HRs this season which seems about right after his 14 last year, he should have more than that but not by much.
I may have biased opinion here as a Mets fan, but I really like Pagan this year. Even if Pagan doesn't improve individually, I see his numbers going up because of healthy Met offense. David Wright looks like his old self, Jose Reyes batting in front of him means that he's going to see more fastballs (he's a fastball hitter) and Carlos Beltran looks like he can contribute. Sorry I went off on the Mets but I just wanted to give you some background as to why I think he's going to have a big year. If Pagan wasn't on the Mets, there would be a much different (better) perception of him.

Is having a thicker offense behind him going to limit some of the steal attempts he gets? I guess I'm asking if he got 37 last year because he was able to run with lack of options behind or if he is a legit 40 stolen base threat?
I'd definitely go with pagan. I agree with everyone else and Cuddyer probably will never hit 30 hrs again. Pagan's health is an issue but if he runs and gets at least 25+ sbs, I think you'll be better off with Pagan.
