Heath Bell for Zach Greinke? WHIR WHIR WHIR

Postby javens » Tue Apr 05, 2011 9:23 pm

Hey guys, what do you think of this trade. It's a standard 5x5, H2H each category, 12 team league.
I would get:
Zach Greinke
for:
Heath Bell
Player X
(it turns out I won't be able to do this trade straight up, but if I added someone, chances are he would accept. What do you guys think?

This is my roster, clearly very offensively heavy, and very much lacking starting pitching. I picked up David Aardsma, who is supposed to be healthy and back in the closer role by late April (correct me if I'm wrong). Three less than mediocre closers should be sufficient if it means I have Zach Greinke, right?

C Matt Wieters, Bal C 12th

OF Josh Hamilton, Tex OF 2nd
OF Andrew McCutchen, Pit OF 4th
UTIL Carlos Lee, Hou OF, 1B 14th
Bench Neil Walker, Pit 2B 19th

I always help in return and leave at least a paragraph of feedback. Just leave your links!

I'm not the most veteran of fantasy players but I'd do it because you get back an ace for a closer and your starting pitching is a little suspect after Anderson.

Edison Volquez
Javier Vazquez
Jake Peavy
Carlos Zambrano

I don't trust any one of the above pitchers near enough to pass on this trade, but as I said I'm not the most veteran of fantasy players.

I probably wouldn't do it. It would be great to trade a closer for a solid SP, but if you look at your RPs after the trade and it leaves a lot to be desired... Sure some of your SPs might not pan out and have some question marks surrounding them, but I wouldn't say your team looks desperate for better ones. If anything, try to sell high on Neil Walker while he's hot, maybe he can net you a serviceable starter.

+1 on selling high on Neil Walker.

Get a SP for him, doesnt have to be an ace or close to an ace. Walker likely is having a flash inside of a pan right now.

I could only dream about this opportunity. Who are you throwing in? If its walker then it's a must do deal. Closers are a dime a dozen, and you can find one with some patience if you just wait a couple week. So many injury risks in that rotation I don't think you can afford not to do this trade.

Help on mine?

I'd at least want Phillips and Bell for Greinke and would likely stick with Greinke but if you can rob the rookie with a Walker/Bell offer, do that instead.
