Votto for Oswalt, Street, and F. Freeman

Postby geauxtigers777 » Tue Apr 05, 2011 12:04 am

I would be on the end getting Votto. This is a dynasty head to head league with 28 man roster. I have Axford and Perez as other closers, and right now have Ike Davis, Kila, Freeman, and Carlos Lee as my possible 1B. My pitchers are Oswalt, Lester, Hanson, Scherzer, Danial Hudson, Kennedy, A. Sanchez, Bedard, Beachy, Minor, Jurrjens, Gio Gonzalez,Hellickson, and Webb on DL. Would you make the trade?

I was expecting to have to say that this wasn't enough of a return for Votto, since these posts almost always have the person getting the trio of players rather than the stud. However, that's not the case here, and I'd make the deal. Oswalt is solid, but he's aging so loses value in a dynasty league. Street has his ups and downs, is an injury risk, and the Rockies pen has plenty of good options behind him. Freeman is very interesting, but he's nowhere near Votto.

looks good to me. I'm very anti-Street and although Oswalt is good, you gotta give up something. plus he's getting old. and you have plenty of other arms to offset that. Votto will be good for years to come. you don't know what you're gonna get w/ Freeman. I would do the trade.

Yeah I agree with the others. I would pull the trigger fast.

I honestly don't even think it's that close.

Nail it home, FAST! You don't need Street, and Oswalt is great but you have plenty of solid SP already (especially considering this is a keeper league).

This also opens up Ike Davis to be traded...he should be part of a package for a nice haul.

Take Votto and run! MVP Hitters like Votto dont grow on trees esp for an aging SP, 2nd tier CL and a dime a dozen prospect 1B, I would def do it ;-D
