Thoughts on today's game...

Porcello looks awful. Can't keep his pitches down at all. Cousins's strike zone was pretty high, but it didn't really matter. He was fortunate to have only given up the 9 hits he did. If not for a few solid defensive plays, it could have easily been 12 or 13 hits. Besides that, almost every ball that was put in play was hit well. I keep thinking he's going to come around, but right now I wouldn't own him in any format.

Jackson doesn't seem to have improved his plate discipline, although Arrieta was effective at simply throwing the ball past many of Detroit's hitters. Arrieta is perhaps a guy to keep an eye on if he can strike more guys out. He certainly has the fastball to be a good pitcher. Maybe worth a watch list grab on Yahoo.

Markakis will outdo his ADP this year. He should score a ton of runs if he gets his usual .300/.400 line. Hard to say if he'll ever hit for legitimate power, but I would be shocked if he didn't score close to 100 runs.
