What's your take on this kid? Anyone follow this deep into the ranks?
He's currently a sohpomore (maybe a junior, I cant remember) at TCU.
Me and a buddy (division rival) have started reaching deeper and deeper.
He went with Anthony Rendon I took a flyer on Purke. I also signed Jeremy Baltz of St Johns. We have opt out options in our league so Im not too worried about the risk (low end costs to my overall team salary, plus the loss of a roster spot for someone who's not even in the minors let alone the Bigs), but the reward could potentially pay off.

Just wondering if anyone had thoughts on these players I mentioned.

Purke is a draft eligible Soph. Going into the college season, Rendon, Purke & Gerrit Cole where the consensus top 3 for this June's draft. Purke has had a rough start to the season, including a loss to Houston Baptist. Cole & Rendon seem to have separated themselves as the top 2. These guys aren't as deep as you imply. They're just not eligible in most leagues. I have Rendon raked as the #10 prospect overall.

I play in a very deep league. There's 30 guys taken that are 2011-2013 draft eligible. I had about another 45 guys on my radar for our March draft. Baltz wasn't in either group. The 2011 draft is very deep. There's a lot of guys who would've been better fliers.

Those guys may not be considered deep in some leagues but I was referring to my league. We have 33 man rosters with only 7 minor league spots and most of those minor league spots have been used up by guys in AAA or maybe AA. Going south of that is new and deep for our league. In fact, Rendon, Cole, Purke and Baltz are the only 4 college players taken in our league so far. Everyone else has a minor league contract.
