Trading Auction $$$ for Players

This is a NL only squad with standard 5x5 rotisserie scoring. We had a draft this past weekend and two owners wanted to make a trade where one owner would trade draft/auction $$$ for a player from another owner. The reason behind this is that the owner that wants to trade draft $$$ had a ton of money, but there were no really good players (Tier 1-2 type) left. On the other hand, the owner who was willing to trade a player had very little money left, but still had many slots to fill. Would you allow this type of transaction during the draft? Why or why not? If yes, would you allow uneven amounts to be traded or would it have to be the value of the player?

No. If they want to work out an agreement where the player who has $$$ drafts the player(s) that the player who had slots to fill wanted and then they trade after the draft, that's fine. There's always the risk of not honoring the agreement, but that's the breaks.

Trading salary cap in any time, and especially during a draft, is just Bad Idea Jeans.

I also agree it is a bad idea. What I see happening is if you allow it during the draft, then the owners will want it in trades during the season using next springs money. You will have an owner who during the season trades away next years draft money and quits the league and you will never find an owner to take over the team with no money to draft with. It is just a bad thing all the way around.
