Wow, I saw Jim Bowden post that on Twitter and thought it was April Fool's. But SI reporting it too. Legit? Sucks.

Could be back this weekend?

"We'll get a couple of left-handers in San Francisco (this weekend)," said La Russa. "But that might be too much to ask. There's no good time to not have one of your key producers out there." Holliday underwent an emergency appendectomy on Friday and reported feeling steady improvement both Sunday and Monday. If that progress continues, a weekend return will become plenty realistic. Matt Holliday

Postby GFunkEra21 » Sun May 22, 2011 4:00 pm

Matt Holliday left Sunday's game in the fifth inning after apparently aggravating his quad injury.
Holliday legged out an RBI fielder's choice but pulled up as he was running through the bag. He initially stayed in the game but was removed a couple hitters later. We assume it's an aggravation of the quad injury that cost him a game last week, but we'll update his condition when more is known

The title of this thread scared me. I thought it was due to his quad problem but it's based on his original appendectomy.

Still, he's gotta stay of the field. I'm benching him this week.

Anyone want to help tell me if I should start Aaron Hill or a limited Chase Utley in his place at my utility spot?

anybody starting him this week? He's riding pine for me and I'm a little worried about his replacement, Hunter Pence.
