So my early evaluation of my team is that I need Power......have plenty of speed......could use some pitching.
Im in a 5x5 12 team roto league.
Here is my starting lineup
C Mauer
C Montero
1B TEX
2B Brian Roberts
3B Prado
SS Pennington
CI Ka'Ahue
MI Aviles
OF Braun
OF Ethier
OF Juan Pierre
OF Andres Torres
OF Michael Morse/Julio Borbon
U Konerko
SP's Ubaldo/Hughes/Cahill/Romero/Nieman/DeLa Rosa/Pineda
The trade offer is as follows
Juan Pierre and Ricky Romero
for
Jose Bautista
Had Romero last yr, he was solid, and think hes gonna take another step forward. This trade though seems like almost a no brainer for me, to get a power guy like bautista this early, and with the speed I still would have.
Any thoughts would be great!!!!

First thought is that I am not sure your pitching can take the hit but your offense would be getting an extra 35+ Homers.. I'd do it!
Thanks, Will Help in Return

I would do this as long as you trust Batista isn't a one year wonder. I don't expect the 50± HR again But 35 seems about right. You can use the power though. Afterwards perhaps you can move Prado or an OF and regain a SP.

Do this definitely. However, I agree that Bautista repeating is questionable. I would trade him immediately after getting him for a better pitcher then Romero, and a better OF or 3B than Pierre. You are getting a steal IMO getting Bautista at this price and can most likely gain from that 2 better players than you lost. You could always keep Bautista if you like him though and it would still benefit your team. However, as mentioned above your pitching takes a hit here. Could be someone on the WW but I think with Bautista you could get 2 to 3 players that will help your team. Maybe even 2 quality young pitchers in return? A something like Scherzer and Quentin, or a Scherzer and Morrow perhaps. Just using those players to show what grade of player I think you could turn Bautista for. Might have to add an additional piece on your part, but it would be one of your lesser players most likely.

I'd definitely take this. Bautista is obviously going to regress from last year, but his peripherals show that he probably won't regress that much.
When I trade, I always like to get the best player involved and you definitely are getting that here.

I'd do it also, simply because bautista is the best player in that deal. You will, of course, need to make some further moves to balance your team later.
Dominate is a verb. Dominant is an adjective.

I like what you got going on, as for the trade I believe it would be good because you know what you need and you seem to know what you want too.

I'd be FISTPUMP ACCEPTING this trade if I were you. What rounds did you draft Piere and Romero? Now you're about to parlay that into a top 3rd baseman Bautista! Sweet!
This allow you to also start exploring trading Prado.
What would you do here>read mine!
