10-Team Yahoo! H2H Standard 5x5 Dynasty League (keep entire roster every year)
I get:
Dan Haren
Adam Wainwright (DL)
He gets:
CC Sabathia
What do you guys think? Obviously Wainwright won't help me this year, but he easily a top 10 ace again next season. I hate dealing CC but Dan Haren could potentially be just as good in era/whip except he'll have higher K's and less wins or do you think Haren is more of a 3.5+ era 1.2+ whip pitcher in the AL? Thoughts? As always leave a link and I will help you.
Here is my staff:
SP CC Sabathia
SP Yovani Gallardo
RP Mariano Rivera
RP Joe Nathan
P John Axford
P Huston Street
P Ryan Madson
BN Chad Billingsley
BN Jordan Zimmermann
BN Mike Minor
BN Brandon Beachy
BN Anibal Sanchez
BN Jarrod Parker
BN Kyle McClellan
BN Travis Wood

I like it. In a 10-teamer I have to believe that you will be able to find pitching help on the waiver wire. You've got 4 great closers which should give you a leg up on SV, ERA, and WHIP most weeks and you can play matchups with your starters. After this year, that trade will look fantastic given that Wainwright > Sabathia and Haren is a solid #2. I think you can afford the hit you'll take this year. Do it.

I don't think it's a bad trade either. You can afford to give up a little this year and pick another SP up out of the free agent pool/waivers considering that your league isn't too deep. You'll be downgrading from CC to Haren (obviously), but it's not necessarily a huge one. I think the biggest risk here is IF Wainwright can come back to his pre-injury form next year... If you think so, then pull the trigger!
Please help with my question:

Hit it on the head. I would go for this in a heartbeat.

Thanks for the help with mine. I think this deal hinges on if you think Wainwright will come back to the form he was last year when he's healthy again. I think I heard that he may not be ready till June or July next year so you may not get a full year out of him next year either. But if he returns to his former form this would be a great deal for you.

Thanks for helping on mine. I agree with the group of posters. This is a good deal in a league you get to keep Wainwright. This is great value considering Haren is due for better luck outside of Arizona. A full season in Angel Stadium which is atleast a neutral hitters park instead of the homer happy Chase should be good for him. I'd do it. You have a nice sleeper pitcher with McClellan already too.

Thanks for the help. I don't know what your hitting looks like, but if you can manage that slight drop off from CC to Haren the payoff next year is going to be awesome with Wainwright leading your rotation.
Go for it.

I'd keep CC. He might be in a new uniform next year (possibly the NL) and he'll be even more studlier. As for Haren, not a big believer in his being the AL full time. Waino will be coming back from TJ and theres no guaruntees he'll be a top 10 SP next season (might be rehabbing in a diff uniform if the Cards go the cheap route).
11' Outlook:
AL CY: Jon Lester
NL CY: Roy Halladay
AL MVP: Alex Rodriguez
NL MVP: Troy Tulowitski
