pick up Contreras? WHIR

With Contreras seemingly taking the closers role while Lidge is out, should I pick him up?

Also, after my draft concluded, i realized that I'm a little light on the steals, that being said, should I pick up any of the below speedsters:

Coco Crisp (OF - OAK)
Peter Bourjos (OF - LAA)
Will Venable (OF - SD)

And if you think I should pick up someone...who should I drop?

Yessir. Harang for Contreras is easy. I would also make an effort for Crisp. He is very good when healthy. Dump Kila.

I also think Jed Lowrie is fairly useless at this point as well. Pick him back up when you hear rumblings of Scutaro getting traded.

That's kinda what I was thinking. I see the Harang for Contreras, but Kila looks to be a nice source of cheap power, no? I know it's just ST, but he should see a lot of time between 1B & DH and I'm not sure I want to give up on him just yet. Granted I need speed, but do you think Coco really has more upside than Kila?

Whereas what exactly is Lowrie's status currently? I know he's basically a super utility player, but is he guaranteed any starting time yet?

I do see Lowrie cracking Boston's lineup at SS over Scutaro as the season progresses. Before that, he should find playing time around the diamond in decent amounts.

However, the reason I didn't choose to have you cut him over Kila is due to their respective positions. You're locked up at 1B, CI, and UTIL already, so I don't see Kila getting much playing time. Lowrie, on the other hand, could see playing time for you at either 2B or SS since neither Beckham or Desmond is a sure thing.

Agreed on contreras. I might drop Lowry for Bourjos... Supposed to have pop, be lightning quick, and made an impression at ST.
