My league is using a innings max this year because we are doing daily transactions. We have 9 active pitchers on our rosters plus 7 players on our reserve roster. One team told me the innings pitched for his team combined based on last year's stats is more than the 1700 max we put in place. Is this going to work or should I just hope my league members be smart with their innings pitched.

1700? How many relievers are people expected (either explicitly, or generally based on your scoring) to field.
1700 IP is about 70 IP/week (assuming a 24-week season). Even if you started 9 SP's, that's almost 8IP/pitcher/week. That's way too much. Most leagues gravitate toward 1250.

We have no designated amount of releivers but each team has 2-3. It's a 14 team league.

Honestly, if your max innings is that high, you might as well not even bother...

Agreed - a 1700 IP max is a streamer's delight. Not much point to it - you're gonna have to work to reach it...
