Derek Lee for Markakis? WHIR

Postby lyons595 » Tue Mar 29, 2011 2:18 pm

First trade of the year...I have plenty of 1B depth and power to spend. I'd like a good OF depth piece and a guy with AVG upside. Good for me??

I get: N Markakis
I give: Derek Lee

ESPN, h2h, 16 team, 3 RP max, daily roster changes. Cats: standard 5x5 plus OBP, QS. Non-keeper. I stream 1-2 SP weekly.

C John Buck
1B Paul Konerko
2B Brian Roberts
3B David Wright
SS Troy Tulowitzki
OF Colby Rasmus
OF Corey Hart
OF Delmon Young
UTIL Vlad Guerrero
Bench Ty Wigginton
Bench Derek Lee

SP Clay Buchholz
SP Shaun Marcum
SP Brett Anderson
SP Brian Matusz (stream)
RP Matt Thornton
RP Jose Valverde
RP Chris Perez

Absolutely! You have Konerko already and I like Markakis to come up big this year as that offense matures.

Yeah. Markakis is clearly better.

Another vote for Markakis. Lee should have a decent bounce back season, but Markakis is much more valuable IMO.

PS: Go Rockies! ;-D

Absolutely do it. Lee could have a great bounce-back year, but I think Markakis should be able to perform like a top 25 OF. I'd probably start Markakis over Delmon once you get him. Nick will hit for average and provide a little speed too. With a revamped offense, I think he will be pretty good. Whether he is a stud depends if he can hit 20 plus HRs.
