Bay has ribcage "discomfort" and could begin the season on the DL, the New York Post reports. Bay was scratched from Tuesday's Grapefruit League game and ESPN New York reports the injury as a strained intercostal muscle in his left rib cage.

Recommendation: Bay is due to head back to Port St. Lucie to be examined by doctors. No definitive word yet on whether he starts on the DL, but Lucas Duda could be on Opening Day roster in that scenario. Either way, his status for Opening Day is now in doubt.
