One closer team. Should I worry?

Postby Singles » Mon Mar 28, 2011 10:33 pm

Thanks. Leave your link.

It is a H2H league with 10 teams. Non Keeper.

Batters Stat Categories:
Runs (R), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), Stolen Bases (SB), Total Bases (TB), Batting Average (AVG), On-base + Slugging Percentage (OPS)

Pitchers Stat Categories:
Wins (W), Saves (SV), Strikeouts (K), Earned Run Average (ERA), (Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched (WHIP), Strikeouts per Walk Ratio (K/BB), Quality Starts (QS)

I have a couple of trades out there hoping to land a closer. Been trying to trade Bourn, Cahill, Lewis. If that doesn't work may need to move bigger peices.

My team:
C. Montero
1b. Gonzalez
2b. Pedrioa
3b. Wright
SS. A. Ramirez
If. Dunn
Of. Stubbs
Of. Bruce
Of. Ellsbury
Of. Swisher
Ut. K. Johnson
Ut. C McGehee
Bn. Mourn
Sp. Sabathia
Sp. Liriano
Sp. Hughes
Sp. Cahill
Sp. Nolasco
Sp. Hellickson
Sp. Zimmerman
Sp. Lewis
Rp. Thornton
Rp. Gregerson

there is going to be alot of closer turnover, I wouldn't be too concerned right away about forcing a trade. Washington & Atlanta have co-closers going, so does Philly probably. Balt & TB could have any # of guys get saves, Tor too. Capps could get some chances in Minn, Fuentes in Oak, Wilson is hurt in SF. and the season hasn't even started yet. By midseason guys will be begging you to take closers in a trade. Keep your eyes open and gamble a little bit here and there and see where you are at in a couple weeks.

Totally agree with above poster. Closers are risky. They get hurt all the time. Keep an eye on the WW. Help me

I'd hold off on trading for a closer. Very productive closers will pop up in the first few weeks, just roll with what you have and be active on the WW.

Thoughts?
