Go for it! Your offense is very good, even without Crawford, and Cain wil be a great addition to your starting ptichers

Reimold and Loney are basically useless to your team considering the lineup you already have and your options on the bench, but you already know that. Pavano is useful but I wouldnt expect anything like last year out of him. bard is only valuable if papelbon gets traded this year, or gets hurt.
so basically its Cain + Heyward for Crawford.

that being said, I think you do need SP help so Cain is attractive for his low ERA/WHIP, and heyward will replace about 85% of crawfords production minus the SB's. But Cain doesn't strikeout a lot of guys and has consistently had low win totals. As a die hard Giants fan i hope the wins increase but i wouldnt count on it.
So i would consider making the move but only after I shopped Crawford around a little more and tried to get a pitcher who will get you 200 s along with the good ratios.. maybe someone who is slightly underrated like Verlander or Weaver?

Do you say the heyward part as now or in the future, because I have him for the next 4 years, does that make a difference?

i was referring to this year. (im always more about winning NOW than in the future, unless the team is terrible, which yours is not)
in the next ~3 yrs i would still expect crawford to be slightly more valuable, just becasue he is a lock for 40+ steals and Bostons lineup is going to be soooo good for the foreseeable future, but Heyward will definitely pass him in the HR dept, and the Run + RBI totals will be similar

Crawford is now on a team that is going to draw him more runs, HR's, and RBI's (not to mention that he'll easily swipe over 50 bases). I really do like Heyward, but it may take a few years for him to turn into the elite player that many view him as. So in short, no way would I make that trade.

Man you have one hell of a team! it would only make sense to ship Crawford off if you were getting an elite SS as you are stacked everywhere else offensively. I agree that Heyward is a year or two away from putting up those numbers us owners drool about. Crawford will surpass Heyward in every category minus home runs this year and most likely next. You really have to look at their situations. I also don't think Reimold is even relevant in this deal. Good luck and thanks for helping with mine!

PS - DROP KAZMIR NOW, report is the kid is topping out at 88 mph. I would expect the Angels to release him shortly.
