Where do you draw the line on matchups?

Sitting hitters versus stud pitchers and sitting pitchers versus loaded offenses...at what point do you draw the line? Am I wrong in thinking that a first round talent kind of guy should play against anyone, no matter what?

Give me your rules on how to decide between sitting a guy for a better matchup or letting him play.

Don't over think the Matchup Thing. With your hitters, play your best ones every game. You might occassionally sit a weak pitcher against a strong pitcher. If you just go each game with your best guys, you will come out ahead.

Hm, I agree with the hitters but with pitching I'm a bit more careful.
Case in point, if you had Scott Baker tonight, I might have sat him with the packed Yankees lineup, all swinging the bat well.
Also, depends on what type of league your in, Roto have to save some IPs whereas H2H you can get away with a bad start if you had someone like Matt Cain preserve ERAs for you and you need some Ks.
