Rate My Team Please!! Need Pitching help!!

Postby kajeffers » Sun Mar 27, 2011 10:07 pm

In a 5 by 5. I think I have a great combination of power and speed. Unfortunately I was on the golf course and auto drafted, but not before set my favorites up. My whole team is below and my pitching kind of sucks. I front loaded on pitching and the draft did not pick me a pitcher until round 8 or 9. I need to drop a couple of these offensive guys below for pitchers. Neil Walker, Travis Snyder, Beltran, or Escobar.

The pitchers available are: Brett Myers, Cueto, Shields, Stauffer, Floyd, Zambrano, Peavy, Lackey, Edwin Jackson, Anibal Sanchez,Scott Baker, Derek Holland, Bronson Arroyo, Pavano. Guys like that. If anyone could help me that would be great. I am a little new to this.

I would pickup Myers for Escobar

I think Beltran might be a lost cause this year so Shields might make more sense here

I like your offense alot. Really great balance and a few guys I can sees definitely having big years. I like Sanchez and Shields out of that group. Another pitcher you could look into is Kyle McClellan, he's getting some hype now. But with a few good pitcher pickups during the season you're in good shape.

I think that picking A-Gon was a good first round choice, I was even thinking about drafting him over Votto. Hitting 40+ HR's a year in Dan Diego says a lot, who knows how many he's going to be able to belt in Fenway. Also, I really like the Stanton pick, he's totally shredding in spring training games.

Overall I think you'll definitely prosper in the homerun category, and your batting average should be pretty consistent with Prado and Arod (I think he will have a good year). The only thing I would advise you to do is to try and pick up or trade for a player that can swipe some bases. Pitching wise, I think your rotation is good, but iffy. I really don't have much faith in Haren anymore, but thats just me. Although I think that Chacin and Hudson will have good years. With your closers, I think that Papelbon will back a bounce back year, but wouldn't have chosen Rodreguez. I live in Flushing (where the mets play) and know that there is no way that the organization will let him have over 50-52 appearances. His contract states that if he were to appear this many times, approximately 18 million dollars (for next years optional year) would kick in, which they do not want.
