Would I be giving up too much? Kemp could very well conceivably finish higher than Hanley (while doubtful)- that's my main fear is that he busts out huge. I'm going from guaranteed production in Mac to hopeful production from Wieters. Obviously the loss of Drew isn't much of a shot, though he does have value, as most of his value lies in his position. My offense is already pretty solid. Should I just keep a good thing how it is, or would this be worth it? Like I said, I'll help in return! thanks

i'm always a fan of getting the best player in the deal and by acquiring hanley you are doing this
like you, i also have weiters but am not sure about what exactly he will do this season..he could be a massive bust or he could bust out..either way his ceiling his higher than mcanns (he's Mauer with Power). Take the deal pronto. Matt Kemp will be a blow but Hanley is the best SS in a WEAK SS position.
I think I'd take this. You are giving up two guys in Kemp and Drew that are upside picks. There is a chance that they break out, but they aren't the safest bet. McCann is incredibly consistent, but with him that's mostly what you pay for. Weiters could certainly post better numbers this year. As a Hanley owner, I can say that he's worth it (even during a down year like this past season), for all that his power and speed mean for your lineup.
Well there are some question marks here. Wieters has the potential to put up McCann-like numbers and although people project it, who knows if Kemp will come back to form. That being said, I'd do the deal and get the sure thing (HanRam).
Bump. Am I the only one doubting this trade? Maybe I'm too high on Kemp, but when I rationalize that he could come very close to Hanley's production himself (albeit at an easier position to fill), then the downgrade from guaranteed good production from catcher to hopeful production just doesn't seem worth it...especially since I feel Drew could go .290/20/80/80/5

I'm with you in doubting it as I am also really high on Kemp, but I also think you should do it
Your getting a sure thing in Hanley, while Kemp isn't so much of a sure thing. Even if he does break out no one can predict that and just basing off of predictions getting Hanley in this deal is good for you. Wieters could also break out, so thats helpful too. The only problem is then your OF will be really weak.... Although, you can typically get a breakout OF off the waivers during the season.
It could go either way, but I like getting Hanley in this deal.
I'd definitely take this trade. Someone else said this, but I'll reinforce. I always want to get the best player in any trade, which you clearly do here. Kemp is definitely solid, but he might not reach what he did in 2009.
As an O's fan, I clearly love Wieters. Last year was a bit disappointing, but I expect big things from him to come.
