Which Hudson should I pick up?WHIR of course!

Postby midwestpatsfan » Sun Mar 27, 2011 6:13 pm

Both Tim and Daniel Hudson on our the waivers and I have an open spot because Greinke is on the DL. So who fits best?
Our pitching categories look like this
W, L, CG, SHO, SV's, HR, ERA, WHIP, K's
My current staff looks like this:
SP-Chris Carpenter
SP-Tommy Hanson
RP-J. Broxton
RP-J. Axford
P-Leo Nunez
P-Ryan Granklin
P-Roy Oswalt
Bench-Shaun Marcum
Bench-Brett Anderson
DL-Zack Grienke

How many teams in this league? The only Hudson that should be on waivers is Orlando. Personally, I prefer Daniel over Tim. Especially with your roster, given that your pitchers (though all solid) are a little light in K's.

Thanks,
It is an 8 team-19 category league, so that is why they are available. Someone dropped T. Hudson and D. Hudson went undrafted. We like to have live drafts and could only get 8 to commit this year. We try to make it more challenging with all the extra categories.

Tim is a very safe pitcher. I see him as allowing you to take chances on others.

Dan is going to be great, and you have to smile at the possibilities.

I would go Dan first than Tim.

Return the favour?!

As stated above if you need K's go with Hudson he had a ridiculous K/BB ratio last year. He may go through a learning curve but you can take a shot on him. On the other hand Tim is solid and will help you with ERA and every category. Id take a shot on the rookie in Daniel Hudson.
