Please rate my draft! My first fantasy baseball season!

Postby fightcapons2011 » Sun Mar 27, 2011 5:49 am

My first experience with Fantasy Baseball and I had to do an autopick.

10 Team, Standard scoring, H2H league.
Categories: AVR, R, HR, RBI, SB, W, K, ERA, WHIP, SV

C - Joe Mauer
1B - Miguel Cabrera
2B-Ben Zobrist
3B-Jose Bautista
SS - Reid Brignac
1B/3B- Mark Teixeira
2B/SS- Tsuyoshi Nishioka
OF- Shane Victorino
OF- Nick Markakis
OF- Nick Swisher
OF-Michael Cuddyer
OF-Logan Morrison
U-Scott Rolen

P- Josh Johnson
P-Cole Hamels
P-David Price
P-Josh Beckett
P-Clay Buchholz
P-Trevor Cahill
P-Phil Hughes
P-Joakim Soria
P-Jose Valverde

I'm very concerned about SS. I didn't even have Reid Brignac in my top 250, and Tajada went undrafted! I have applied to get Tajada on waivers. How is the pitching? Do I need to worry about only having 2 RP? Any help is appreciated.

Perhaps try to package Bucholz and an OF for an improvement in OF?

Thanks arcticrogue. Any suggestions on caliber of player to target. Obviously a top 5 would be nice, but is it realistic?

I don't think you could get a top 5 for an OF and Clay. You might though depending on who needs pitching and what OF they have...

I would think you could be okay with two RP. The WW might provide some help through the season as well, so look out for that.

Brignac might even do okay for you. But SS upgrade may cost more than you'd want to give. Again, shop around and see which other teams have SS you like and what they need. You might be able to get the better of a trade since you have an abundance of pitching.

I think that SS is perhaps the easiest position to get by without a stud, because most teams have to do it. However you could definitely use an upgrade, just keep an eye on the WW, there are generally good options in the first few weeks. I do like the team, although I agree that your OF could use a boost. Don't sell the farm, but find someone who's interested in players that you have. Also, do you have no bench? sorry if thats a silly question...

What do you think?
