Return to Draft, Trade, Keeper and Waivers Questions

Not sure how he went undrafted (though I never even considered him), but Juan Pierre is sitting on the WW one day after our draft. To pick him up, I'd need to let him clear waivers (not burning my claim already), but am I missing something here? The guy stole 68 bases last year and seems like a lock for .280+ with ~100 runs and 40+ steals. I'm in a 10-team keeper league and that looks pretty valuable to me considering the other options.
My problem is, I'm not sure who I'd drop to get him. I already have 5 outfielders, so maybe drop Michael Morse? I have some speed with Andrus, Kemp, Phillips & Gardner, but this is a H2H league so I could certainly use another guy like Pierre at times.

Truth be told I wouldn't bother and stick with what you have. The only player to even consider dropping for him would be Morse but I think with him being slotted in two spots OF/1B it makes him more versatile and useful. Hes had a great showing and Piere is on the waivers in a lot of places.

PICK HIM UP!!!! Drop Morse.....this seems like a no brainer to me.
First off the guy stole 68 bases last year........EVEN if you don't need the speed, and don't put him in your lineup there will 100% be a team that does need speed and sees him on your bench. Just for the trade value alone pick him up.......and Im sure with an injury here or there he will probably see some time in your lineup this season.

I drafted him for 2 reasons. Speed and trade bait. I might be able to package him in a trade for somebody I need. He's almost guaranteed to get you 50+ stolen bases a year. That could be a big deal to a team that has decent speed but not enough to make a push to finish in the top 1 or 2

I would grab him and drop Morse. The guy led the majors in steals last year (by 16 over the next guy!) and was tied for 20th in runs. So he's elite in one category and very strong in another. His average won't hurt you. You know he won't help you in HR or RBI, but for the speed alone he's worth the add. I mean, what's the difference between him and Ellsbury or Gardner? 5 homers and 10 runs? Yet those guys are going several rounds higher. Pierre is just old news, but he's valuable.
