My Alvarez/Lind for his Gardner/McGehee? WHIR!

During the draft I realized that my plan to go after Power/Speed guys failed miserably, as I loaded up heavy on SP..I just couldnt help myself at the values they were comin in at.

After scopin out the other teams I've targeted a potential partner:

12 Team H2H Standard 5x5

My Pedro Alvarez and Adam Lind for his Bret Gardner and Casey McGehee

I realize I lose a potential almost 60 bombs and 160+ RBI from these guys but I need the Runs/SB's more...I think... Do you?

Can i Afford the Power/RBI to Runs/SB trade off? If not, I have serious SP depth to deal but who should I go after and who should I replace?

Who do you have for pitchers? If P is your depth then that's where you should trade from. Does your league have any bench spots?

We have 5 BN Spots but i am currently using them all to stash SP.

SP: Kershaw, Liriano, Gallardo, Hanson, Nolasco, Gio Gonzalez, Matusz, Kennedy
RP: Storen, Thornton, League, Perez

Who should I part w? If i take on Gardner then I could afford to deal an OF or i'd have to Bench one..who gets the curb?

I actually like this trade for you. Pedro has the upside but still isnt there yet. If it was a keeper league id stay away, but like you said this helps your needs. And if Gardner can hang onto that leadoff spot, you are looking at a ton or runs and sb's.

I like this trade for you. I like McGehee this year and Gardner will be a great source of runs and steals. Alvarez hasn't proved anything yet and I'm not big on Lind. You already have good pop on your team and def could use some Runs/SB's. I would go for this.

I echo these sentiments. You gain enough power back with McGehee so I say go for it.

Yeah I would do that deal, Alvarez and Lind have more upside but also a lot more risk as well. I thought I read the other day that Gardner will be leading off and if you need steals he will help that out as well, expect a slight dip from his numbers of last year though.

Thanks for answering my question. I don't know what your staff looks like,but with your offense you can make this trade survive with McGhee at 3B and Brett with Castro should give you enough steals to compete. I would do it.

If you were offered this trade I'd say take it. I think you'd definitely come out the winner at the end of the season. If I was the team at the other end and you offered this trade to me, I don't think I would accept it, so it depends on what the other owner thinks. It's definitely a win for you if you can pull it off!

I would do this immediately. I like McGehee over Alvarez and Gardner over Lind. this is a no brainer.
