Draft tomorrow. Last year of 7x7 10 team mixed keeper. Extra categories: Doubles, OPS, WHIP, K/9. Would you take an almost guaranteed top 10 ace/cy young potential with Kershaw in the 7th or more value with Beckham in the 25th (even though he is no sure thing, and is his upside really that exciting!!!?)

Already have keeping these 4 of 5:

McCutchen in 25th
Marmol in 16th
Liriano 14th
Hanley 1st ( I pick 10th overall, position scarcity)

Need one more.

Kershaw all the way too me. Also WHIP is standard 5x5 so K/9 and what else for pitching is added?

Yeah still Kershaw. Could be a top 5 pitcher this year.

NO QUestion it's Kershaw. I dont know how many keeps you have so even if it's only 1 keeper the 7th RD you're looking at SPs like Marcum, Cain, Kuroda, Carpenter. Not bums, but not Kershaw.

Beckham, while you certainly won't get him in the 25th rd, you can scoop him up still in the mid rounds and will just be missing out on some similar mid rd upside talent that may or may not hit anyways

Usually i side with Value with keepers, but here you gotta take the closest thing to the sure thing and take the stud.

Especially if you have a lot of Keepers...

I'm big on Beckham this year but I'd definitely take Kershaw in the 7th. The determining factor, for me, is the amount of mid-range depth available at 2B.
