interesting draft pick trade, please help.

Postby codyscherer » Tue Mar 22, 2011 5:06 pm

This is a standard 5x5 yahoo league 12 man league. We reset all keepers for this year so drafting with non. I was offered getting someones 1st round pick and 2nd to last round pick for my 3rd and 5th round pick. Is this worth it. I figure getting 2 1st round picks would make this worth it. We dont know our draft positions yet either. So i could possibly get 1st and 2nd pick which would be sick. could get 11,th, 12,th and 13th also. But is this worth possible not having any 3rd and 5th roundf pick, a spot you need to fill in spots on your roster. PLease help.

will try to help or respond to anyone that helps. Thanks.

Heck yes I would do it. Others will reply and say no.

Here's why...for your opponent, he's thinking "there's plenty of depth so I can benefit more by drafting more in the top 60 than others..."

You have to turn this logic back on him and use it to your advantage. You should take this deal right now because using the same logic, you can recover missing out on players in the middle rounds. The top rounds of fantsasy baseball boil down to 1 simple strategy: probablility of duplicating previous numbers.

You have less risk drafting higher. Take the deal.

*edit* I know how to spell, don't let that affect your opinion, I just am in a hurry ha ha*

I like that but maybe try for a lower second pick like 14th to 18th pick and then work from there I think youve got solid start though with giving him 3rd and 5th just try to better your second end of deal.

please help

I don't love it but I can see why you would want to. It is going to be hard to replace one of those early picks but getting a top 10 pick would be beneficial in the long term.
