I personally believe I did well in my draft. I was first overall pick in a league of 8 teams. The picks alternate each round, meaning my 2nd and 3rd picks were back to back and so forth. I have mentioned my team to quite a few people and the majority seem to think my team is below average for an 8 team league. If you could provide insight, opinions, recommendations, that would be awesome. My confidence is a bit shot now about this team.

Your team looks good, I think you can still get better bats considering its an 8 team league. But overall your infield looks solid, maybe get a better SS (I have Andrus too and apparently he's overrated and I shouldnt of picked him according to all the "experts"). But hey, atleast you have Nishioka. Not too fond of Gregg as your second closer (or as a third). I also think you can get a better RP, maybe later on into the season. Good Luck!
your team is decent, but not lights out, especially in an 8 team league. The good news is that there will be plenty of good players that you can pick up as free agents.
Your bench players can be much better than what they are right now. Also, I dont like carrying two catchers, but thats just me. I would try and upgrade Arroyo and even Lackey. Bell is a solid closer, but your others could probably be upgraded as well.
Without knowing the other teams in your league it is tough to predict what your leagues free agent pool is like, but I would be willing to be that you can improve your bench and the back end of your pitching staff pretty easily by adding free agents.
As for comments about Andrus, I wouldnt sweat it too much. He will help you in atleast 2 categories. 8 team league, he's a top 8 SS.
I think you have a very good team, I'm just not sure its lights out which is what I assume you need in an 8 man league (I've never done 8 before). You have solid bats and arms, with a whole lot of power and RBI potential. I think Young and Gardner are both going to have big years as well. I think you'll need to really stay on top of your team and be very active since you will have quality FA's available, but theres definitely playoff potential there
