Morneau or Ethier in 6-deep keeper

Postby biscodiscuit » Mon Mar 21, 2011 11:37 pm

Okay. Down to the wire on this one and I'm at a toss up.

12 team, H2H, 5x5 standard, 6 keepers. Standard Yahoo positions, minus one UTIL (C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, UTIL and pitchers)

5 keepers: Cano, Crawford, Wright, Lester, Andrus
Toss Up: Morneau or Ethier?

I'm 10th pick and it is questionable if either will get back to me. Trying to win this year, rather than looking for a guy for the future.

It looks like if I drop Morneau, I'd probably get Butler at 10, but little chance Morneau would return to me.
Ethier is the best OF available, but there Werth, Ichiro, Rios and Bruce are available to draft. I should be able to get one of them, but it could be stuck with only 1 top flight OF if nobody who I'm projecting as taking an OF ahead of me jump on Weeks or Jeter.

I've been leaning Ethier, but have recently had second thoughts, especially with Morneau looking to be recovered.

Your take, please!

I'd keep them both and drop Andrus, assuming you aren't forced to keep him due to some rule.

I agree. I'd much rather both of them over Andrus who's pretty one dimensional.

No rules for keeping Andrus. Just position scarcity and age. 6 other SS being kept. Jeter, Drew, and Ian Desmond are the best available and I'm not a fan on the former two.

Definitely something I'll consider. Thanks guys. Any other thoughts? Much appreciated.

I'm just not a fan of Andrus esp when you already have a SB guy in your keepers. I am wary of Morneau but I still prefer him to Andrus.
