Auction budget in keeper league?

I'm starting a 10 team keeper league where you can keep five players per year for either one or two years with the cost based on how much you paid for them in the original auction. There are 25 roster spots and I'm afraid if I give people too much money ($260), I'll have too many people go the "stars and scrubs" route. Especially after year one, where teams start receiving good value for their keepers and have more money to play with.

I'm thinking $230-$240...anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for any input.

You could give them $260 or $2,600 and it shouldn't change how they draft.

Stick to $260 so people can use normal draft values.

All the magazines use $260 for 23 players. If you use anything else, it will make things too hard to research. You are making a mistake putting a years limit on how long players can be kept. You must have an increase, but if an owner makes a wise choice on a Rookie for a small amount, he should be able to keep him as long as he wants. The esclation will make the high price stars be thrown back in the player pool without some arbitrary years limit. == My league uses the auction salary the first two years, the third year it is increased by five and the fourth and every year after it is increased by ten. There are always stars in the player pool.

We have a NL only 10 team league we only use $200 budget. Its not hard to figure what it would be in a $260 cap for research purposes. 200/260 is 23% less money. So just take 23% off of the salary of player in $260 league.
What we do for keepers is you can keep them for two years at same price as drafted. The third year you can choose to keep them for one more year at that price and then lose all rights to the player the next year or sign a long term deal. Long term deals are $5 per year signed on top of what ever you paid for him.
EXAMPLE: Dexter Fowler drafted for $6 two years ago he can be kept at same for third year or sign to a 2 year contract($6+5+5=$16), 3 year($6+5+5+5=$21) and so on.
I know all this is probably to late now that season started.
