recommend a good point system?

Can anyone help me with setting up a good point system for pitchers?
For batters we have a pretty basic "1point for single, 2 for doubles,..." etc.
What would be a good system for pitchers to make them equal (or close) to hitters?
I would like a system that makes owners have to "think" about whether to pick a good pitcher or batter.
Do leagues typically give points to pitchers for outs or innings or??? How much is a win worth, etc?

It is completely going to depend on what sort of values your batters come up with. You need to make the system create comparable pitchers values in order to make drafting pitchers worthwhile.

I think the best point systems are the ones that give points for outs made and then subtract for hits and walks allowed. You could replace hits and walks with straight up runs allowed. The rest is basic preference on to how much luck you want to be involved in your league (CG, SHO, HR Allowed, etc).
