C: Carlos Santana
1B: Adam Dunn
2B: Gordon Beckham
3B: Ryan Zimmerman
SS: Hanley Ramirez
1B/3B: Kendry Morales
2B/SS: None
OF: Matt Holliday
OF: Mike Stanton
OF: Colby Rasmus
OF: Drew Stubbs
OF: Carlos Beltran
Utility: Adam Lind
Bench: Carlos Ruiz

Clayton Kershaw
Jaime Garcia
Daniel Hudson
Brandon Morrow
Jordan Zimmerman
Neftali Feliz
Gavin Floyd
John Axford

I know, I'm kicking myself for having drafted Feliz. I think my team needs more speed, for one. I've considered trading Kershaw for someone big. What do you all think?

I hate it when people post a simple question and get no reply. Let me take a crack at this:

C: Carlos Santana-You did good here
1B: Adam Dunn-ok
2B: Gordon Beckham-ok
3B: Ryan Zimmerman-solid pick
SS: Hanley Ramirez-this guy is on a mission. Out of which position were you drafting?
1B/3B: Kendry Morales-good
2B/SS: None-obviously this needs to be addressed.
OF: Matt Holliday-Money in the bank.
OF: Mike Stanton-Sit back and watch this guy make you look like a genius
OF: Colby Rasmus-upside
OF: Drew Stubbs-upside
OF: Carlos Beltran-downside
Utility: Adam Lind-this guy is a mystery
Bench: Carlos Ruiz-under-rated back-up to your young stud C

Clayton Kershaw-young, great numbers, upside
Jaime Garcia-nice pick
Daniel Hudson-nice sleeper!
Brandon Morrow-good
Jordan Zimmerman-yet another example of potential
Neftali Feliz-will address later
Gavin Floyd-I'm guessing that you STOLE this guy
John Axford-Under-rated, ....super solid

In summary, you worry too much. You drafted power, speed, and upside. You DIDN'T overspend on closers. You probably didn't overspend on catchers. You may have challenges to put together a dominant SP staff in a 10 team league here, ....but you can engineer that with your starting foundation. Now, ....on to Feliz. Everybody is deathly afraid of Feliz. As evidence, .....I'm in two leagues and have him in neither. With that said, ....what is to fear? Yes, he was a dominant closer, ....if he is shifted to starter, the chances that he will shine at that position are remote. Closer is the SAFE bet. Don't worry so much. He won't likely be shifted to SP. If he is, ....he might just do fine. In the meantime, ....there is a tremendous turnover rate for closers, ....keep your eyes open and hedge your bets.

Bump, thanks for the reply. At 2B/SS, I've cosndiered signing Nishioka, trading one of my starters (probably Bumgarner or Garcia), or waiting for Daniel Murphy at gain IF eligibility if he wins the starting job. Any other suggestions?

A few things:

One, I decided to add Gio Gonzalez and Erik Bedard, dropping Floyd and Garcia. Bedard is an ace when healthy, and I think Gonzalez has major breakout potential for next season.

Frankly, I don't see the point in trying to add pitching at this point. Considering the breakout potential of a lot of my starters, and Feliz's effectiveness if he becomes one, I don't think it makes sense to overpay for Yovani Gallardo, David Price, etc. At the very least, I'll take a wait-and-see approach. I'm worried I might struggle in 2 particular categories- walks and wins- but again, I'm not too concerned.

Also, Ryan Raburn is currently a FA, which gives me several ideas. One, is he a better option than Tabata or Beltran? (I can keep 2 out of the three). Further, do you think Raburn makes Rasmus expendable, and maybe I should consider trading Rasmus for another decent starter?
