This is my first year playing fantasy baseball. I've been playing fantasy football for years but I don't know too much about baseball. I went off of Rotoworld rankings but have no clue how I did! Any input would help!
to be honest...that team isnt good at all. You have a lot of guys who will for avg, and steal some bases but thats about it. your pitching staff is decent.
maybe you can move mauer and another player and get a solid first baseman (I.e. Fielder or Tiexiera)
I'd be more than happy with that pitching staff. You have 5 legitimate aces. However, your bats are another story.
I'd trade either Mauer or Posey for a power bat. There's no sense using Posey at 1st base - all his value is at catcher because it is the scarcest position.
Are you in a 12 or 14 team league? What is the scoring set up like? We could use a little more information in order to really offer some help.
As mentioned already your pitching is stacked, you could certsinly move one of those guys for a legitimate stud, becausewhat you have is pretty standard players and in fantasy slow and steady don't win.
Enjoy your season, you will certainly frustrate some good teams with that pitching staff.
Really appreciate the input guys. It's a 12 man league.
Batters Stat Categories: Runs (R), Hits (H), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), Stolen Bases (SB), Batting Average (AVG), On-base + Slugging Percentage (OPS), Grand Slam Home Runs (SLAM) Pitchers Stat Categories: Innings Pitched (IP), Wins (W), Losses (L), Complete Games (CG), Shutouts (SHO), Saves (SV), Strikeouts (K), Earned Run Average (ERA), (Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched (WHIP), Strikeouts per Nine Innings (K/9) 1! No points are listed yet, not sure if they should be. I know in Fantasy Football we have all the point values listed. It's a Yahoo! league so maybe someone can tell me where to find the point values considering they aren't on the scoring page.
And maybe someone could throw out a few players names that are considered a "big bat" that I could move Mauer for? Maybe a few package ideas I could propose to other teams. Thanks in advance!
Yea, I agree with what everyone else has said so far. You should try and trade one of your catchers and some of your pitchers (you have a lot of aces) for a bigger bat (try to grab a stud 1st baseman). Your team is all speed and pitching and no power.
Gotcha. I'm going to do a lot more researching over the next couple days, I was just helping out a buddy that needed another member to join the league, not sure about who the studs were. Being an Orioles fan, haven't really been keeping up with baseball the past few years...too depressing...
