Johnny Cueto, SP CIN
News: Reds SP Johnny Cueto, who had been dealing with stiffness in his right biceps and forearm, made his first start in eight days on Saturday against the Rockies. But the right-hander lasted just one inning and was sent to see a doctor after his early exit. It was the second straight outing that he left early. Cueto gave up two runs on three hits in his inning of work. He also struck out one. Cueto also left his last start against Texas on March 11. He rested for two days before throwing a bullpen session with no pain.
Analysis: Cueto had been progressing well with his injury but he looks to have suffered a setback in his latest start. The Reds said that they would discuss the injury until Cueto met with a doctor so Fantasy owners should keep an eye on his status going forward. The 25-year-old had a career year in 2010 but injuries to throwing arms are always worrisome. Cueto looked to be a middle-round pick in mixed leagues on Draft Day but a serious injury could cause his value to drop.
