Tex and others for Morneau/Wilson/Gallardo?

Postby JHubRoyals » Fri Mar 18, 2011 4:43 pm

12-team 7 Keeper, 5 Propsect Roster, 5x5 Roto league. We just finished our draft two days ago and already I have received a mini-blockbuster trade offer.

I receive: Justin Morneau, Yovani Gallardo, Brian Wilson and David Aardsma

I give up: Mark Teixera, Jhoulys Chacin, Brian Fuentes and Drew Storen

Should I do it? I'm obviously giving up the best player involved in Tex and replacing him with a huge injury risk, but the other two players are clear upgrades. Also it looks like Storen might have played himself out of the closer role and Aardsma might still get 20+ saves when he comes back.

Here is my team:
C- C. Iannetta
1B- M. Teixiera
2B- I. Kinsler
SS- M. Aviles
3B- A. Ramirez
MI- R. Raburn
CI- B. Butler
OF- C. Gonzalez, A. McCutchen, CB Young, Ad. Jones, V. Wells
UTIL- C. Crisp
Bench- W. Venable, C. Pena, E. Encarnacion, Kila Ka'aihue

SP- Cl. Lee, S. Marcum, W. Rodriguez
RP- J. Broxton, B. Lyon
P- D. Storen, M. Garza, J. Chacin, T. Cahill
Bench- B. Fuentes, Ed. Jackson, T. Wood, A. Wainwright

Thanks for any help!

He also has J. Bay, A. Soriano and T. Colvin I could throw in a counter. Or I could possibly replace Yovani with Haren or David Price. My current closer situation is shaky and getting another top SP would add piece of mind as well. I just wish I knew if Morneau was back for good.

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger, maybe I'm crazy.

I'd pull the trigger on this deal due to the upgrades you're getting pitching-wise. I have said time and again that I'm completely shying away from Morneau this season, but in this case, I'd be willing to risk it.

Thanks man. I am worried that if i sit on it for too long he will back off if they announce that Storen will not be the closer.
