Strategy with these league settings WHIR

12 team redraft points league:

Batting: 1pt for 1b, 2pt for 2b, 3pt for 3b, 4pt for HR, 1pt for RBI and R, 2pt for SB
Start: 1b, 2b, 3b, ss, 3OF, IF, UT, C
Pitching: 10pts for W, 7pts for S, -5pts for L, -1 for ER, 1pt per K and IP
Start: 4SP, 2RP

Overall points is all that matters with no categories. Picking 2nd...HanRam looks to be consensus #2. Any suggestions on how to proceed after that?

Wrong forum but 7 points for a save and nothing for a blown save is a big deal.

Plugged these points settings into lastplayerpicked's tool...

Offensive rankings appear to be very similar to an OPS league (i.e. Dunn is a top-tier 1B). Otherwise there appears to be little difference between that and standard rankings. Even speed guys probably won't get a bump out of the triples because of the emphasis on HR/RBI production-type players.

Pitchers are a little upside-down though... Top-tier SP are still up there, but "safe" closers (top-10 RP guys) are mixed in there all at the same level. I.e., Bell = Lincecum, Soria = Lee, etc.

Overall though, I think this is a pretty balanced system. If SV were worth 5 points instead of 7 I think you would be safe using just about any "standard" rankings out there.
