Garza to replace which pitcher?

Postby cs3 » Thu Mar 17, 2011 7:06 am

my first real draft is finished and i ended up with an incredibly young pitching staff.
this is a H2H league that uses standard 5x5 cats + QS so guys who will consistently throw deep into games are even more valuable than usual.
i just realized that somehow Garza went undrafted so im looking to pick him up to give me another SP who is going to throw 200+ innings.
which SP would you drop for him?
here is my staff:
Halladay
Johnson
Latos
Marcum
Dan Hudson
Hellickson
Chacin

this is a tough choice because each of the last 3 guys has incredible potential, but most likely only hudson will break 175 innings.
or would you stand pat now and hope to trade one of the younger guys after the allstar break when inning limits may come into play?

leave a link and i will try to help you

Of those guys I would probably drop Hellickson or Chacin for Garza. But I would see if I could trade Latos or JJ as both have a health concerns going into the season. If you could do one of those guys and Marcum or Hudson for an upgrade somewhere else, I would do that.

I'd use Garza to replace the guy who replaced him in Tampa, Hellickson.

I wouldn't drop any of them for Garza. Like stated above, I would seriously look to trade Latos and JJ if you really want to add Garza.

im nearing a deal to acquire Arod for JJ + (????) with a guy who is in love with Johnson. see here:

So that may take care of the situation.
but if it falls through, youre saying you would be more comfortable owning Chacin this year?
any specific reasons? (i tend to agree with you, but i want to see why other people are thinking this way)
