Moreland or Smoak to play 1B

12 team mixed head to head, 5X5 standard catagories league. I have Texas and Seattle rosters to draft a team from. Who should I use at 1B? They are ranked about the same. players available as free agents in four round snake draft, now that we all have selected our teams,are all from ARI, PIT, SD, HOU, CLE, KC. I am picking 9 out of 12. If I assume I can't grab a decent 1B quick in draft, then who should I play Moreland or Smoak. It's a 2 Catcher league and I have Napoli and Olivo. Napoli is eligible as 1B but then I need to draft another catcher from the 6 teams mentioned, if available. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Available 1B: Butler, Carlos Lee, Gaby Sanchez, Laporta, Garrett Jones, Overbay, Cantu, Helton, Hawpe, Melvin Mora, Michael Morse, Hinske, Nady, Ishikawa, Blum, Jake Fox, Kila-Ka'aihue

Available catchers are:Carlos Santana, Miguel Montero, Doumit, Buck, Barajas, I-Rod, Kendall, Hundley, Hannigan. I left out some who I believe will not get enough at bats to be useful.

Is this a keeper league? If so I'd roll with Smoak and try to grab up Carlos Santana as fast as humanly possible.

Grab Santana if you can. You should be able to roll with Napoli at 1B if needed as well. Of the two, I think I would start Moreland just because I am just not convinced with Smoak. i was hopping to see a strong spring and it hasn't happened yet. Really though if you have both of them, just play the hot hand unless one of the forces you to start them.

Definitely Moreland. Smoak has shown nothing in the majors and plays in Safeco. Moreland seems to have quite advanced pitch recognition combined with good pop, great home park and great lineup. Think it's pretty easy choice. Fllow me on Twitter @cwhittemore33. Always answer any ?
