This is a 12 team league, 5x5 cats, H2H. No season moves besides trades (10 off season rounds of drafting...5 after the WS, 5 in the spring).
Following trade was proposed to me, and I was looking to trade away a 1B as I have a plethora of them (Carlos Pena, Konerko, Dunn, Lind who has eligibility there)
I give:
Carlos Pena Jordan Zimmermann Shaun Marcum
I receive:
Mark Teixeira Phil Hughes Fernando Rodney
My roster for the overall picture: C Jesus Montero 1B Carlos Pena 2B Kelly Johnson 3B SS Derek Jeter OF Adam Lind OF Mike Stanton OF Michael Bourn UT Paul Konerko BN Ryan Ludwick BN Adam Dunn BN Travis Snider BN Delmon Young BN Brett Lawrie
SP Jordan Zimmermann SP Shaun Marcum SP Trevor Cahill SP Gio Gonzalez RP Jhoulys Chacin RP Kevin Gregg RP Brad Lidge RP Drew Storen BN Jon garland BN Mark Buehrle BN Kevin slowey BN Jeff Niemann
I'll likely pick up Chris Johnson and hope he proves the skeptics wrong. Overall though I'm happier with my team going into this season. As for the trade I'm on the fence. I'm not solving my 1B problem as I'm just replacing one for the other. I'm also concerned about trading away two young arms. Any unbiased opinions (I'm a big Marcum fan) would be appreciated.

You win that trade by a big margin. You're getting Teix on the cheap and I'd rather have Hughes than Marcum in a dynasty (which it sounds like this is).

Accepted the trade. Now the question is how to move some of my other 1B and what sort of return I should be looking for.
Really wish Dunn was still eligible at OF.
And my 3B situation is really up in the air. Not a ton of FA options to use with my last 2 draft rounds. Then it's a question of who to drop? Ludwick was on my short list, as was Bourn (but then I'm really forfeiting SB).
Is Freese still available? Chipper Jones might be another sneaky play at third. Edwin Encarnacion should qualify at third and he'll DH threatening 30 HRs. Polanco could be a sneaky play as well to help your AVG.
I'd drop Ludwick for one of these guys as you have quite a few OFs.
Encarnacion is available, the other two names aren't. Not sure why I did not even consider Edwin being a Jays fan and all. Not sure about the eligibility situation on Yahoo. Do those change throughout the season? I assume not...seeing as he's likely to see very few games at 3B barring injury or Bautista being moved full-time to the outfield.

Players can only gain eligibility, not lose it, during the season.
I like Encanarcion as a sleeper this season, so would add him over Ludwick.

So I updated my trade block putting Dunn and Konerko on it. I was then greeted with this trade proposal:
I give: Konerko
I get: Chipper Jones Kurt Suzuki
Seems pretty straight forward and fills some holes in my roster for this season. Any reasons not to take it?
I think this is the most trade action I've had in the nine seasons I've been a part of this league after taking over for someone.

If I accept the second trade Ludwick would be the player I drop. So if that happens who do you suggest dropping to pick up Ludwick? At this point I'm looking at the two most expendable players as I'd also like to pick up Kyle Drabek to conclude the off-season drafting.
Konerko will regress from last season, but should still put up good numbers. I'd probably pass on that deal since I can't trust Chipper at all. I'd rather go with Encanarcion over him.
