Billy VS Alex

Postby BEN2074X » Mon Mar 14, 2011 2:35 pm

18 team keeper we keep 8 with some restrictions on the keepers salary stlye stuff. we play 6x6 OPS HLDS as the extra's
We play 4 OFers and a Util so i could have 5 total OFers but i hate going into the draft with 4 of those 5 allready taken
this is who i plan on keeping Choo, Stanton, Santana, Beckham, Walker, Tabata, and one of these pitchers Chacin, Bumgarner, Dempster

so i can only keep either Billy Butler or Alex Rios ........ keeping Butler opens up my draft options obviously which i concede is a big deal but i think this year Rios is probably the better player.....or does Butler have a mini breakout and hit atleast 20 bombs?

What does the Cafe think?

Normally I would say keep Rios there's gotta be better options at first than Butler but with 18 teams it might be a little sketchy. So unless you're sure you're gunna have a shot at a better option I would keep Butler. You don't want to end up with Berkman or LaRoche at first...
League Setup:
13 Team Points League
6 Hitters 3 Pitchers (Positions don't matter)
1B = 1, 2B = 2, 3B = 3, HR = 4, RBI = 1
Win = 12, Save = 5

Butler over Rios, given the players you've mentioned. But is there some way you can keep both and drop someone else?

I would go:

Gordon Beckham 5 1
Shin Soo Choo 21 2
Carlos Santana 11 2
Mike Stanton 12 2
Jose Tabata 5 2
Neil Walker 5 2
Madison Bumgarner 5 2
Jhoulys Chacin 5 2

I don't think Butler or Rios would be worth $21, but you know your league better than I do.

As for your scenario, I would keep Chacin and Butler.
