In my H2H league I drafted Soriano as the 5th pick and the next round I got Vlad. The samething happened in my roto league that I am comishner of, but it wasn't my team. So Vlad can fall to later rounds.
Just my opinion- I like to take a Bat first rather than a Pitcher.
I have seen crazier things happen in drafts, so anything is possible.
I also did a Public League ROTO draft where prior went first pick overall and YES he is a Cubs fan!

You could very well see Vlad, I've seen him in the 2nd round. I wouldn't hold my breath on Beltran though. However I dont know what you are looking for, but Helton and his BA is a plus, you might consider him.
I would take Prior third round now if you can - hope that other owners are paranoid about his health. At 7, you can expect to get Bonds, Pedro, Manny, Halladay, Sheffield (if his thumb doesn't concern you), Delgado...
I am going to shy away from Prior. Maybe in the 2nd round the earliest. But I really am not a fan of OFs like Bonds, Manny or Sheffield in the first round.
I predict the first 6 picks will be: Arod, Pujols, Soriano, Helton, Beltran, Vlad (in whatever order). Definitely if any of those 6 drop to 7, I would take them. But unfortunately I am not seeing a 7th guy I really would like to pick.
It's a 10 person league, maybe even taking boone/kent and tejada as my first two picks, to solidify my middle infield?
If any of those six players you mentioned make it to your #7 pick then you have to grab that remaining player. Whether it's Roto or H2H.
I like to draft two big bats in the first two rounds. Since this is a 10-team league, you should have no problem grabbing two hitters and waiting on your ace SP till the #3 Round. But for your first pick at #7, I would strongly suggest selecting Manny Ramirez and let the three owners behind you squabble over Prior or Pedro or possibly Schilling before it comes back to you in the #2 Round pick #14.
As with all of these types of posts that come up, I give the same advice...
Rank up to your draft slot...which would be top 7, in this case.
This is my top 7:
A-Rod
Pujols
Soriano
Guerrero
Beltran
Helton
To be honest, I think you're right at the cut-off...I would be more than happy with those six above, but I think there is a gap to the next player. Personally, I just hate taking pitchers in the 1st, but I think it has to be Prior here...Manny lasted till the 2nd in both of my leagues...I took him coming back around the snake both times.
I would not reach for Boone/Kent and Tejada...not one of them in the 1st, at least. Position scarcity matters, but don't weight it all that much.

So I had a choice between helton or beltran. I went with the five tool player and took Beltran with the seventh pick. Helton is good, but I am just happy with Giambi in the sixth for me.
