Hi guys,

I'm in a 14 team 5x5 league that allows 5 keepers without a gap, but up to 8 keepers as long as you are under it. I will not be able to keep more than 5 guys.

Essentially the deal is I get Mark Teixeira and I give Ryan Zimmerman and Jon Lester. Lester means nothing because I won't keep him anyways.

My Keepers:
B.Posey
R.Cano
T.Tulo
R.Braun
R.Zimmerman

Is Zimmerman for Tex an upgrade? A year ago I would have said yes, but .295-30hr-90rbi 3b's aren't that easy to come by. Then again, .290, 38hr, 100rbi first baseman aren't either.

thoughts?

I would stick with Zimmerman, 3B isn't deep this year, and 1B I think is the deepest position.

That being said, their numbers in general wont be far off. Tex is solid and has proven himself to be a star year in and year out, zimmerman is up and coming and I think will outperform his numbers from last year.

KEEP ZIMMERMAN, plus you don't wanna help out the other player by giving him lester in that deal.....its a NO BRAINER for him!!

I have Zimmerman and Teix about equal, but I like Zimmerman by a hair due to the position he plays.

keep Zimmerman. Tex and Zimm are pretty even but add in the fact that this is a keeper league then Zimmerman gets the nod. He is still pretty young and just hitting his prime years.
