Morneau, HIGH RISK, HIGH REWARD. Lots of 1b talent out there, could be had in the draft too as most other players will keep a 1b. Dunn should have a decent year, but not w/ those pitchers to choose from Sizemore??? Really, wouldn't have even typed his name w/ the other players CC will get you wins JJ will get you all around cats (has a shoulder injury so keep an eye on) Haren will get you all around cats
I would go w/ CC & Haren, unless JJ's shoulder checks out ok before deadline.
My draft picks suck this year... I used my 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks in trades! So I start in the 4th round! ..... This may change your advice>,, or maybe not!..... I just think I need to land a 1b going in to the draft... morneau and dunn id think would be gone by 4th rnd....
look at the rest of the league...do they have a 1b already locked in? If so, do they have a backup? In drafts, the early rounds especially, you take best available regardless of position, but don't reach on 1b's as they are a plenty this year. Several people may shy away b/c of injury concerns (as should you consider).
AS long as Morneau doesn't have any setbacks before the season starts him > Dunn. But you could go crazy and keep him and Dunn and load up on bats. If you really feel like you want an arm I think it's CC for sure.
You could always punt catcher and keep all three and drop Mauer. Just a thought.
