PLEASE RATE MY TEAM! WHIR

Postby drtodddds » Sun Mar 13, 2011 2:23 pm

What do you think of my team? Any improvements I could make?
In a 10 team 5x5 roto keeper league. Had the 7th pick and original 5 keepers:
Votto
Mig Cabrera
Kinsler
Kemp
Jimenez

My fully drafted team
C Carlos Santana
1B Joey Votto
2B Ian Kinsler
3B Pedro Alvarez
SS Stephen Drew
CI Miguel Cabrera
MI Marin Prado
OF(5spots) Matt Kemp, Jason Werth, Drew Stubbs, Rajai Davis, Bobby Abreu,
Uti Grady Sizemore or Omar Infante

SP Ubaldo Jimenez, Dan Haren, Max Scherzer, Dan Hudson, Hiroki Kiroda, Jhouls Chacin, Javier Vasquez
RP Joakim Soria, Chris Perez, Frank Francisco, Craig Kimbrel

My last pick in the draft was Vasquez. I could drop him for any of the following players on the waiver wire:
P Jorge Posada, Carl Pavano, Edwin Jackson, Joge DeLaRosa, JA Happ, Jaime Garcia, Gavin Floyd, Jeff Niemann, Eric Bedard, Fausto Carmona, Josh Timlin, Clayton Richard
UIt Marco Scutaro, Raul Ibanez, Lance Berkman, Ian Stewart, Scott Rolen, Astrubal Cabrera, Michael Morse, Alex Gordon, Nate McLouth, David Freese

I think you have a nice balence of speed and power in your lineup the only batter in your lineup I'm not too cazy on is Abreu but I don't think any hitter on the waiver wire is any better

I like your pitching solid relievers especially if Francisco does get the Jays closing job since he is the favourite for it.

I actually would keep Vaquez over those options despite his stats from last year being out of the AL East and back in the NL I think will do him good he had an excellent season 2 years ago in the NL and I like him over any of the other pitchers that are listed on there.

Nice team. I like Vazquez, especially with last pick.

You have great beginning. No real need to change yet. Be patient to start and react from there. Good luck.

Thanks for the feedback.
Freese and Morse are lighting it up this spring training. Worth picking up in any fashion?
Yes I do like Vazques. A bit of a gamble though, but not a huge price to pay with the last pick.

Any more advice is appreciated. WHIR

Agree on Javy, think he's a nice sleeper in FLA. Like your balance of speed and power, as others have said, but if Kinsler breaks down (as he always does), you could be looking for cheap steals. Agree on Abreu not being GREAT but I like him better than those waiver guys. Smart to keep an eye on Morse. Of the waiver SPs I like Garcia, de la Rosa & Pavano, but not worth dropping Javy or anyone for them quite yet. All in all, nice squad. I like Drew to make the leap to top 5 SS (possibly passing Alexei, Jeter, Rollins) and Kemp to rebound.

See mine? Thanks viewtopic.php?t=423993
