3rd Pick Overall Tonight....and my first post here ever!

Hi guys! I'm a browser turned finally poster, and I'm wondering if you guys could help me out a bit. I'm in a 10-team league and I'll be drafting 3rd overall tonight! This is NOT a keeper league and it's a 5x5 roto setup with weekly roster sets. This is on Sportsline, so we start 2C, 1 at each infield position, a Middle Infield and a Middle Outfield, 5 outfielders, 1 utility and 9 pitchers. To my first question:

Now, I'm assuming the Pujols/Hanley are 1/2. This leaves me with an interesting choice at #3, and here's what I've been considering:

Tulo - SS is so scarce and behind Hanley/Tulo, it's really shaky
Longoria - 3B, also weak, and I like him, but I am scared he might drop a bit without Crawford in the lineup.
Cabrera - fantastic production, but in a 10 team league, I'm thinking that even with just the 10th best 1B I won't be THAT bad off - is that realistic?

To my second question, it seems that with this setup I need to really focus on getting solid OF, as 5OF x 10 teams means starters will be reaching into David DeJesus territory - also, needing 2 C might make reaching for one early worth while. Your thoughts?

Go with Tulo as SS there is clear separation in the SS position after him.

Always go with the best player available regardless of position has alway been my philosophy but in this case the dropoff after Tulo is too bg..

Seems like you're contradicting yourself bigtime.

I'd go with Cabrera.

Yeah, my only concern with Cabrera is that all that extra weight is going to cause him some problems this year - my other concern is that the difference between Cabrera and the 7th 1st basement is much less than the difference between Tulo and the 7th SS - or am I wrong with that assumption?

It seems like I should be stacking OF like crazy in this Sportsline format, and having to start 2 catchers means I think it might be worth reaching 3rd round or so for Mauer

Cabrera and Tulo are your only deabtes.... I can buy into the discussion of 1B depth, but is this not a reason to pass on Pujols as well....

Cabrera is much more a sure thing to give you his stat line than Tulo who needed a hot stretch to inflate some numbers.

I'd go with Cabrera easily. In a 10 teamer, you should be able to get a serviceable SS and a top 10 3B.

Does it change your viewpoint at all or is it still Miggy consensus #3? Basically what I'm hinting at is that we have to start a SS, a 2b and an additional 2b or ss
