Last Keeper position - Ellsbury, Phillips, Pence?

Postby suspect » Sat Mar 12, 2011 9:22 am

What's up everyone -
Here's my dilemma. Keepers are due today and I have 1 spot left to fill - who would you fill it with? Ellsbury, Brandon Phillips, or Hunter Pence? Or even Grady Sizemore or Brett Anderson?

Here's my current keeper list:

McCann
A. Gonzalez
Hanley
Josh Hamilton
Cliff Lee
Tim Lincecum
Mat Latos
Carlos Marmol

Points league with Max games and innings. Keep 9.

Point values
H=1, 2B=2, 3B=3, HR=5, RBI=1, SB=2, CS=-1, BB=1, HBP=1, K=-1
W=10, L=-5, SV=10, CG=5, SHO=10, Out=1, K=1, H=-1, BB=-1, ER=-1

Tough choice to some degree. I don't like Pence here, so that leaves Ellsbury and Phillips.

Ellsbury - 8 HR, 45 SB = 130 pts

Phillips 18HR, 18 SB = 126pts

I think it's fairly close here, but would learn towards Ellsbury as he has a chance to put up a few more pts.

Please help;

I prefer Phillips the least.

I am debating Ellsbury value as well. However, I think previosu posts have missed Pence's value, who easily eclipse Phillip's in my mind.

Pence is dependable for 25HR and 15SB. If Ellsbury goes leadoff and has health, I can easily go with him. These two are tighter than Phillips for me.

I'd go Pence, Ellsbury, Philips.

Right so I guess the question is who's ceiling is higher? They're both 28, Pence has way more power and has been healthier and really consistent.
